Scouting for Life Service Project

The 2008 Lodge Service project is called Scouting for Life. This service project, which was approved by the Lodge Executive Committee (Chapter Chiefs, Lodge Leaders, Lodge Committee Chairs, etc.) will target organ donations. There is a uniform law that has gone into place through out ND, SD, MN, and MT that would make it legal to mark your preferences as an organ donor at the age of 16. We are looking to run a series of PSAs (public service announcements) and we need videos!

View the Scouting for Life Flyer

A video contest was created for video no longer than 90 seconds through-out the lodge. Videos are to be sent via youtube, e-mail, or hard copy by Nov. 15. There will be a trophy for the winning chapter. It is nice. Contact jacksonias@hotmail.com for more information. Thanks guys.

Visit the website to see the videos!

Winter Fellowship 2009

January 9-11, 2009 @ Camp Wilderness

We summon all Arrowmen who enjoy adventures, competitions, and nights full of intense games to the Order of the Arrow’s grand adventure:  Winter Fellowship. The brand new and amazing fortress of Butler Outpost, the new Cub Camp, will be the base camp for our excursions. For a little insight upon the weekend’s activities, snow can be entertaining. Building Quincy huts\ Igloos is a time honored tradition of northern tribes, and you can make a really “cool” one if you try. Immediately upon registering you can start the Quincy hut competition. If you have ever imagined making some kind of intense structure like the massive snow and ice hotels from the Bond movies, Winter Fellowship is your chance.

Winter Fellowship offers indoor activities as well. We have a chess competition, board games and those interested in the regalia will have the opportunity to learn how to make a choker, which you can keep. The making of and keeping of the choker is at no extra cost.

Not a Brotherhood member yet? When you pre-register, state that you would like to earn it.

Winter Fellowship is going to be an unforgettable time. Lets get as many people as possible there: more people equals more fun. So be there and you won’t regret it.

Register for Winter Fellowship Now!!

National Order of the Arrow Conference (NOAC):

Do you like great OA shows, Native American events and dancing, and getting to meet 7,000+ other Arrowmen from across the world? Then NOAC is event for you! NOAC also offers some of the best leadership training in Boy Scouting – share ideas with the other top lodge leaders.

Every two years, Arrowmen from across the country gather on the campus of a major university for the National Order of the Arrow Conference (NOAC). This year's NOAC will be held August 1 - 6, 2009 at Indiana University

Pa-Hin normally visits a number of sites and amusement parks on the trip to and from NOAC, so there is time spent traveling before and after NOAC. Likely travel dates are 2-3 days before/after the event.

Visit Pa-Hin's NOAC Site to learn more!

Send in your registration and $100 deposit today! The deadline for registration is February 15th.

             OA High Adventure

Click on the link to learn more about the OA's High Adventure programs -- available only to OA members! Spend two weeks at hiking as part of the Philmont Trail Crew, paddle Charles L Sommers Canoe Base on the Wilderness Voyage, or learn to scuba at OA Ocean Adventure.

OA offers Arrowmen the unique opportunity to work and play at the Boy Scout High Adventure bases. You'll spend a week conducting service -- working on trails and portages -- and a week choosing your own adventure. Program prices range from $125 to $250 (plus transportation) for the two weeks -- a great, inexpensive way to experience the high adventure base.

Applications and further information are available at the website: http://adventure.oa-bsa.org/  Sign up Soon -- spots fill up by early winter!

Officer Retreat/Leadership Seminar -- October 17 - 19, 2008

Over 30 Leaders within Pa-Hin Lodge joined in fun and some great leadership training. We did everything from playing OA Jeopardy (go team Ch 5!) to setting the Vision for the Lodge. We did that while having fun and getting to work together as a team.

We also got a chance to work as committees; planning Winter Fellowship and working on Ceremonies. We had an LEC, where or Activities Chairman presented information on Winter Fellowship and we looked at some new Pa-Hin merchandise.
